Jesus is Life Eng Final
Today’s Reading: Matthew 6:25-27 Version ESV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+6%3A25-27&version=ESV

Millions and millions of years ago, some scientists say, a cell emerged and appeared. It was life. This tiny cell developed and constitutes all living species we have today.

Do you know what? It is inconceivable that life evolved in such an organized way, full of thousands of details, of beauty and perfection, without following a model of superior intelligence.

Did it happen all a sudden from an spontaneous and organised movement of matter? Impossible!

However, the biggest problem or dilemma is not the beginning of life but its end: death!

Jesus, arguing about our excessive concern about clothes, food and goods, asked: “Which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” Can the rich man buy with his money a few minutes of life? The answer is no! However, we think it could be done. We confuse life with material goods, with prestige, with appearance, pleasure and power. Again, Jesus tells us to beware of all types of greed, because the real life of a person does not depend on the things he has, even if they are many.

In Jesus we find origin, meaning and continuation of life. Even if you die, you will live!

Consolation of Jesus Final
Today’s Reading: Psalm 27:1 Version ESV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+27%3A1&version=ESV

In general, people are very afraid of dying and try to forget the existence of death.

The sudden loss of a loved one or relative brings to our heart pain, loneliness, suffering and emptiness. In the meantime God, in His providence, has already taken account of these issues, ensuring peace, tranquility and comfort in Jesus. The consolation of Jesus takes place when we rest in His promises. When we understand this reality: “The Lord is my light and my salvation; of whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid”.

When our hearts are firmly planted in Jesus, nothing can abate us. Each time, God keeps us in the midst of difficult and tragic events of our lives, He calms our hearts and gives us courage to endure the trials and overcome.

What tragedy are you facing in your life? What enormous evil can assault you? Nothing and no one in this world can separate you from the love of Jesus Christ! Not even death itself!

Jesus Order

Look around you. What do you see? A worn out world; a sad and ugly reality; where selfishness, violence and immorality are close to an embarrassing level. Therefore, as Christians, we are called to bring light to the darkness, joy where there is sadness, peace where discord prevail, life where there is death.

Jesus left, for all Christians, a very clear order to this effect: ” Then he told them: Go and preach the good news to everyone in the world.” (Mark 16:15 CEV)

We interpret that order as the most tender expression of God’s love for us, God’s love for all who are tired, sad, hurt, and desperate.

To bring Christ to others, we must repudiate, with all our heart, all sins, the attachment to material goods and selfishness; giving to Jesus the absolute control of our thoughts, intentions and actions.

We must pray and ask today, “Lord Jesus, give me the ability to spread your love to this lost and confused world, May I become a light where the darkness of sin and evil are present. Let me be love where hatred and discord prevail, in your name”. Amen.

Death Penalty 1
Today’s Reading: Romans 6:22-23 Version NIV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+6%3A22-23&version=NIV

The criminal was tried and sentenced to death. By a squad?  By the electric chair? By lethal injection? No matter the method, the goal is the same: Death!

The history of mankind is the history of death, the death of thousands and millions of men and women, old, young and children.

In newspapers, radio, television, or the internet, the news are always hot when it relates to fatalities.

How many will die this year in wars, revolutions, terrorism, bombings, and assaults?

You and I are doomed! Condemned to die! Today, tomorrow or within a few years, but it will happen because there is condemnation “The wages of sin is death,” says the Bible.

In this confusion of bodies and in the unbearable stench of death, there is a ray of hope. The smell of life emerges and spreads: Jesus, the Son of God, agreed to be sentenced to die in our place, but transformed his death into life, life for himself and for all who are condemned to die.

Jesus is God’s forgiveness to free us of the death penalty!

Power of Good
Today’s Reading: Mark 7:21-23 Version CEV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark+7%3A21-23&version=CEV
In contemplating so much corruption, so much evil, so much selfishness and violence, we think, “All is lost, there is no hope for humanity. It seems that there is no room for kindness, brotherhood, love, understanding between people. The power of evil has spread everywhere, generating hatred, enmity, fights and even death”.

You cannot see death, cannot touch it, but you can feel its effects. Evil comes from the depths, into the heart of people. The Lord says: “Out of your heart come evil thoughts, vulgar deeds, stealing, murder, unfaithfulness in marriage, greed, meanness, deceit, indecency, envy, insults, pride, and foolishness. All of these come from your heart, and they are what make you unfit to worship God.”

However, all is not lost. We think, “Good has been defeated again; but from the ashes he raises to truth and justice. Hatred, violence, lies, envy, crucified Jesus. In the darkness of that day, the forces of evil could have danced and celebrated the victory. But that did not happen. Jesus rose to life, conquering death and sin and all it represented. It was the strength and power of God’s love that triumphed over hatred and evil.

Do good, stay close to Jesus and love your neighbor. This world will not be transformed by hatred and violence, but by the power of justice and the love of God.

Techology & Shortage
Today’s Reading: John 8:12
Today, in most developed centers of population, the average life expectancy of people rises from year to year. Not long ago, the average life of a man was just 50 years. Today, thanks to various factors and resources of medicine, a man can expect to live an average of 65-75 years.

In a way, technological progress, electronics and human resources have become indispensable tools for prolonging life. But they come at a time when any technological device gets back to a disappointed life, near death patient. You cannot do much more for a patient who is in a vegetative state, that is, which remains alive thanks to the aid of sophisticated machines and equipment.

It is then that human resources are exhausted, and we can only rely on our faith. The faith that moves mountains; faith in the person who understands the human being: God! God, Creator of all of us and giver of life in Christ Jesus.

Do not wait until everything fails and you have no strength to turn to Him. Look to Jesus now!
