True or False
Today’s Reading: Jeremiah 10:2, 19:13 Version CEV
It is said that the horoscope is equal to a political speech, everyone pays attention but nobody believes it. However, each day more people listen or read the zodiacal horoscopes predictions.

According to psychologists, this is happening because it’s fun and joyous for people, and everything leads to the pastime arena. However, if the horoscope is just fun, why so many people are concerned about their predictions and pay to “professionals” and spend money on astrological charts?

Deep down, people know that the horoscope is not a serious thing, for the simple reason that the stars and planets, distant and lifeless, cannot interfere with daily life and the destiny of people.

Some intellect and common sense will show that God, the Creator of all things, is the only one who has the power to predetermine and take care of our future. The stars cannot, but the Creator of the stars can control the destiny of men.

Place your past, present and future in God’s hands. He forgives the mistakes of our past; He directs the present and gives us hope for the future! “The wonderful deeds of God in the past bring light to the present for the hope of the future!”

Good And Evil
Today’s Reading: Proverbs 16:1-9 Version CEV
When a scientist discovers a new formula or a new invention, in most cases is attempting to make available some kind of benefit to mankind, providing a great service.

On the other hand, however, there is always someone waiting, ready to misuse the invention; to transform it into something bad, to change what was invented or created for good into something evil.

It seems that evil is part of humanity. Although God created man in his likeness, as time went by, man became and turned into something evil. It is impressive to see some people creating and others destroying.

Why does this happen? Perhaps because in man exists the selfish desire of supremacy, profit and power. To achieve certain goals, all means are justified, that is what they say.

How can a person, created in the image and likeness of God, let angels and at the same time demons influence him?

Our consolation, our comfort is to know that God guides the destiny of the universe and of our individual lives. Our hope is in God; through His Spirit He opens our hearts and His will becomes ours. Only then, good takes hold of our lives and dwells around us.

tomorrow
Today’s Reading – Matthew 6:25-34
I feel a little uncomfortable with the words of the song: “My fate will be what God wants” because that god mentioned in the song may not be the same God I believe in. After talking about horoscopes, luck, crystal balls, etc., concluding that “my destiny is that which God wants,” gives the impression of an impersonal God, a kind of fatalism or destiny.

There is no fatalism of destiny. You are a being created in the image of God and God is sovereign, He is in control of everything that happens and what will happen. However, you think, work, choose, make decisions, and this substantially changes your life, your destiny, your future. This means that although God is sovereign; you and I are responsible for our lives, our decisions and our future. We cannot suddenly drop everything and say it had to happen, it was already written. Two parallel lines that cannot be crossed, human responsibility and the sovereignty of God.

We cannot give way to the selfish desires of our heart and hope that the future is uncertain. In that case, we do not win anything blaming ourselves or God. What we must do is, seek God with our entire heart and move on even if we dislike his principles and directions. If we do this, we will live intensely every day, leaving tomorrow in the hands of God.
