Forgiveness-2
Today’s Reading: 2 Corinthians 2:5-7, Matthew 6:14-15 Version CEV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Corinthians+2%3A5-7%2C+Matthew+6%3A14-15&version=CEV

Have you stopped to think about how many times we start talking with the phrase “if at least”? “If at least they had not betrayed me, if at least she or he had not abandoned me.”

Remorse is one of the weapons used by Satan to steal from us the joy of living our present. We allow bitterness and past failures destroy our lives. No one can get rid of this evil.

If you remember something that someone did to you in the past, immediately you may think all that you would like to do against that person. The options are few when we face bitterness; and some people try to take revenge. The problem is that this does not work, because it becomes a vicious cycle each claiming revenge on the other.

Others practice the silent treatment: loaded with bitterness, alone in silence. But inside, they are ready to explode, full of resentment and pain. There is another option; forgiveness. No matter that you do not feel like forgiving, that you want the taste of revenge, that the person who has wronged you does not deserve forgiveness. The only way to erase the past is to forgive.

Only through God’s grace can we remove the bitterness of our heart, for a new beginning.

failure, forgiven, Jesus, miracles, see miracles

Miracles
Today’s Reading: Mark 2:1-8 Version CEV
When we pay attention to some of the miracles of Jesus, we are shocked to see that the religious leaders of the time failed to discover the meaning of these.

Jesus healed a paralytic, but first stated that the man’s sins were forgiven. The religious argued: “Why would he say such a thing? He must think he is God! Only God can forgive sins.” There was this paralytic man walking from one side to another. They should rejoice in this fact but, however, were enraged and worried, saying that Jesus was breaking the law.

This leads us to think about how often you and I fail to see the miracles that occur every day around us. A happy and beautiful child runs around and we shout: “Do not do that, you’ll soil your clothes!”

The sun shines in a blue sky and people complain: “What a hellish heat” When rain falls, this expression is heard: “This bad weather will ruin my weekend!”

Small blessings, miracles, fall upon us every day: The sound of music, the air we breathe, the beauty of the trees, our expectations and hopes. However, among murmuring, wailing and gloominess, we see miracles. We must ask God: “Lord, do not let me miss the miracles!”

Anxiety - Future
Today’s Reading: John 4:14
Are you part of that group of people who only think about the future? I hope not, because we must work today to build a better future for you and your people.

Daily anxiety and the obsessive notion of riches have affected both the extent and quality of human life. So we face diseases, weariness and anxiety.

Pay attention! When you are not satisfied with anything in life; when money is no longer enough to live; when the fear of failure and the future takes hold of your heart, there will be no joy in life and anxiety will attack your spirit and your body.

Be satisfied with what you have; live with simplicity; do not spend all you earn.

If you live worrying about the future, know that perhaps the future will never arrive. You’ll die tired as if there were no rest in eternity. Work and rest, as needed, earn and spend with balance, this is essential. Live the present as if it were the future because this is sensible.

Always work, but do away with anxiety. Live life! Jesus is the fountain of life. Drink that water and you will never thirst.

Discouraged
Today’s Reading: Philippians 4:13 ESV
An old story is being told about the devil’s decision to sell all of his tools. Among them were: hatred, malice, and many other instruments used to separate people from God. In a corner there was a section with a seemingly harmless instrument called “Discouragement”.

They asked the devil: Why is this instrument so expensive? And the devil said: “well, because this is the easiest instrument to use, as nobody imagines it’s mine” With this instrument, I can easily break the door of the heart. Discouragement leads people to quit and stop using love, justice, peace and all the detestable things of the Kingdom of God.”

That story illustrates a little-known truth: no battle is won with discouragement. Discouragement is synonymous with failure. Discouragement destroys our day, our will, and kills our hope and vitality.

The good news, however, is this: we were empowered to overcome discouragement. The Bible teaches us that we can face all situations with the power that Christ gives us.

Do not let discouragement control your life. On the contrary, have faith and feed your enthusiasm with the power of Christ. Prepare to fight, now!

Self Pity
Today’s Reading:Luke 15:29-30
Have you ever felt sorry for yourself? Moments of life in which you say, “I’m good for nothing! Everything I do is a failure!” This is called self-pity. Some called it “a pity party.”

In the Bible there is a story of a father who had two sons. The youngest asked his father the money due to him, went away and spent it all in pleasures and prostitutes ending up as a miserable man. Under these conditions, he repented and returned to the father, asking for forgiveness.

The father, after so many years, thought his youngest son had died, but there he was, back home, totally wrecked. The father hugged him and made a party to celebrate his return. However, the eldest son, indignantly told his father: “Look, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours came, who has squandered your property; you receive him with what, a party!” The eldest son felt rejected, pity seized him and could not feel joy at the return of his brother.

Defeat pity; destroy disappointment through faith in Jesus Christ. Discover your personal courage, the joy of living and the pleasure of sharing your life with others. Of course, you are worth something! You are important in the eyes of God and He created you to live a valuable and useful life.

What Children Need Most

children 3
You need to always be doing an assessment of your life. Your family, especially your children, need you now when they are growing. Children who spend the whole day without the affectionate presence of their parents, without feeling the security that your authority represent, without physical contact with them, without your spiritual warmth, have the potential of ending with all forms of imbalances.

Without the presence of their parents, what advantage will they draw in the future just because you provided them with a good school, a nice house or a nice car? If their lives are disrupted by psychological crises, fighting and insecurity at home, all the material goods that they can enjoy will be of little value in their lives and their emotional state.

What children need most, time, love, understanding, discipline, you can give now. Just some dedication, time and a lot of love for them will do. Rest assured that the investment represented by these intangibles will mean for them, the difference between success and failure.
