Jesus The Good Shepherd Final
Today’s Reading: John 10:11-16 Version ESV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+10%3A11-16&version=ESV

Do you know a sheep shepherd? You may know some cowboys; however, a sheep shepherd is rare in our countries. In Jesus’ day, there were many shepherds, and He used the example of the shepherd to discuss his care for us. At the time of Jesus, the shepherd tended his flock in the open field. He always was ahead of his flock, leading them to places where the grass was green, and the best. He knew all of his sheep one by one, he knew which one needed more care and carried them over his shoulder if necessary.

To abandon the sheep when a wild animal attacked was never an option. It would be an act of cowardice on the part of the shepherd. He was willing to give his life, if needed, to save his sheep.

Jesus speaks of shepherds; however, he actually refers to pastors of humans. The pastor of humans should be like a shepherd: always ready to lead people to the green fields of the knowledge of God’s will and the clear and refreshing waters that enliven the spirit.

The pastor of the human herd should know each person and be ready to share his life by risking it if necessary even to die for his sheep. Only Jesus, the Good Shepherd, has all these qualities. That is why he is called the good shepherd!

The Search
Today’s Reading: 1 Peter 3:10-12 Version KJV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Peter+3%3A10-12&version=KJV

We all know what is to appreciate life and to live better days. So often we look for different things to fill our lives, things that give us satisfaction and pleasure.

In any major city in the world, you find drugs, crime, prostitution and almost all kinds of evil. If you want to, you will find the most dreadful people in the world.

However, you can go to the same places and find the most loving, attentive, polite and hospitable people on earth. You will always find what you want to find!

You can select the best man or best woman, the best father or the best mother, son or daughter, the best executive or operator, and find defects and faults in all of them. You can select simple and humble people, observe them carefully and found many positive features. It all depends on what you are looking for.

For sure you will always find what you are looking for! What are you looking for? A Bible writer said the following words: “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.”

Everyone who seeks finds, seek the Lord Jesus Christ and you will find him. Look for him today!

God's Remedy
Today’s Reading: Romans 12:21 Version CEV

When you are treated unfairly at work, you will like to go and confront whoever bothers you.

In a bus, someone pushes you. In your car, on your way home, someone cuts you off or honks constantly wanting to pass and get ahead. It makes you want to start a fight.

At least at home things are going well! Well, not always! There is a lack of cooperation, insults, aggressive and hurtful words. And after the discussion follows bitterness, indifference, tears and the desire to drop everything and leave.

Before you get in an argument and fight; before thinking of abandoning everything or continue lamenting your fate, remember: The evil that one receives at home, on the street or anywhere else, can never be removed with the evil we can do. Violence breeds violence! There is only one remedy, an expensive difficult to find now a days. A remedy that never fails: “Don’t let evil defeat you, but defeat evil with good.” This can only be a remedy of God!

Good And Evil
Today’s Reading: Proverbs 16:1-9 Version CEV
When a scientist discovers a new formula or a new invention, in most cases is attempting to make available some kind of benefit to mankind, providing a great service.

On the other hand, however, there is always someone waiting, ready to misuse the invention; to transform it into something bad, to change what was invented or created for good into something evil.

It seems that evil is part of humanity. Although God created man in his likeness, as time went by, man became and turned into something evil. It is impressive to see some people creating and others destroying.

Why does this happen? Perhaps because in man exists the selfish desire of supremacy, profit and power. To achieve certain goals, all means are justified, that is what they say.

How can a person, created in the image and likeness of God, let angels and at the same time demons influence him?

Our consolation, our comfort is to know that God guides the destiny of the universe and of our individual lives. Our hope is in God; through His Spirit He opens our hearts and His will becomes ours. Only then, good takes hold of our lives and dwells around us.

Emphasizing The Virtues

Virtues-1
Today’s reading: 2 Peter 1:5-7
We are not the first to write a history of wars, violence, crimes and injustice. All sins are old. If we look carefully, the world is not worse than it ever was. The problem is that we tend to exaggerate the defects and ignore the virtues. In a group of friends, the tendency is to talk about the shortcomings of each other. Very rarely will you hear someone highlight the virtues of the people.

Make today a commitment to yourself to see and praise the virtues of the people around you. A word of appreciation, an incentive, a thank you, are small things that can change the environment in which we live. The problems, disappointments, sufferings, however small, make us completely forget all the good that has happened to us.

God, who knows us very well, says many times in the Bible that we should be grateful, remembering his protection and provision. The exercise of gratitude requires us to look at the positive and good aspects of life and brings back confidence in a God who does not abandon us, whether in joy or in sorrow, in good or in bad times.
