Compassion of Jesus
Today’s Reading: Matthew 28:20 Version CEV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+28%3A20&version=CEV

When suffering knocks at our door, enthusiasm and joy of living go out the window. This is how thousands of people live. But this does not have to happen to those who know Jesus through an experience of personal salvation.

With Jesus, suffering faces hope and certainty. Without Jesus and without hope life is nothing more than fatigue and afflictions; and any small problem becomes a mountain of difficulties. Daily, Jesus places himself at our side. He knows our steps and guides us to the safe path. Jesus clears up our ideas and leads us with a firm hand.

If any one of our children screams for help, we leave everything and run to his rescue. It is no different with Jesus, who gave his life for us. His presence at our side is guaranteed. He said: “And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”

Life can be much more than a sea of tears. Jesus is our source of joy and peace.

Happy New Year 2016-b
Today’s Reading: John 8:12 Version CEV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+8%3A12&version=CEV

Happy New Year! All celebrate with joy, happiness and parties. Congratulations, congratulations! A year has passed full of experiences, activities of all kinds. Someone once said, past events bring light to our present for the hope of the future.

We all have hope, dreams and expectations, especially at the beginning of a New Year. We are credible actors in the theater of life. Players, spectators, undoubtedly with personal and communal experiences that in some cases will be remembered for a lifetime. Diseases, loss of loved ones, job changes, and marital status, birth of new members in the family, successes and failures.

For the wise, all these facts, which are already in the past, have extraordinary value. God has given us the blessing of memory and hope, but sometimes we do not care to remember the events that have been drastic and painful. But for the wise life is like a laboratory where he learned what works and what does not. And this brings hope and light for the New Year so that the future will be one filled with joy and gladness.

Jesus said, “I am the light for the world! Follow me, and you won’t be walking in the dark. You will have the light that gives life.”

Congratulations, congratulations. Happy New Year!

The Worst Deficiency
Today’s Reading: 1 Peter 1:3-9 Version CEV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Peter%201:3-9

Many people overcome their physical weaknesses and face life in a natural way. However physical deficiency often brings a sense of rebellion and bitterness.

We are talking about physical impairments. However, it is good to clarify that we are surrounded by thousands of people spiritually impaired or poor at heart. You and I have our shortcomings: shortcomings in our emotions, our feelings, our character, and our personality.

It is common to find people who prefer to stay away emotionally. They do not know how to give and receive love. Everywhere we find selfish people, depraved, incoherent, aggressive, and with other aberrations.

The physical shortcomings are obvious; spiritual shortcomings are highlighted in our social relations. It’s good to know that God cares about our deficiencies. God knows the cause, the origin of our weaknesses: our sin. Sin manifests in our selfishness and our natural rebellion against God’s will.

To eliminate the cause and the effects of our shortcomings, God assumed human form in Jesus Christ. Christ died and rose again, he overcame sin and death. He beat forever our deficiencies in body and soul. Jesus is our hope!

True or False
Today’s Reading: Jeremiah 10:2, 19:13 Version CEV
It is said that the horoscope is equal to a political speech, everyone pays attention but nobody believes it. However, each day more people listen or read the zodiacal horoscopes predictions.

According to psychologists, this is happening because it’s fun and joyous for people, and everything leads to the pastime arena. However, if the horoscope is just fun, why so many people are concerned about their predictions and pay to “professionals” and spend money on astrological charts?

Deep down, people know that the horoscope is not a serious thing, for the simple reason that the stars and planets, distant and lifeless, cannot interfere with daily life and the destiny of people.

Some intellect and common sense will show that God, the Creator of all things, is the only one who has the power to predetermine and take care of our future. The stars cannot, but the Creator of the stars can control the destiny of men.

Place your past, present and future in God’s hands. He forgives the mistakes of our past; He directs the present and gives us hope for the future! “The wonderful deeds of God in the past bring light to the present for the hope of the future!”

follow Christ, God's Kingdom, goodness, hope, joy, justice, knowing God, Love, Mustard seed

God's Kingdom
Today’s Reading: Matthew 13:31-32 ESV
Jesus compared the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed, a small seed that preserves life within. Even being so small, it shelters inside, in embryonic form, the tree and its fruit.

The seed is a symbol of hope. It is small and doesn’t seem to be very important but, when planted, it develops and produces fruit. This is the ideal in the heart of people: It is hope that turns into acts of love and goodwill.

The disciples of Jesus time, like ours, are ordinary people who work, shop, suffer, but have something very special in their hearts.

To follow Christ is to be carried away by love, justice, joy and many other aspects that show the presence of the Kingdom of God in our lives. However, we cannot keep to ourselves these qualities of our new life. If they exist in us, we must share them.

We can ask ourselves: Do I live the joy of knowing God? Do I show the peace and love of God, in a crazy and lost world like ours? It will only be a drop of goodness in an ocean of evil and corruption. No, it’s not a drop of water in an ocean, it’s a tiny seed. It always germinates, grows and fructifies. This is the miracle of the Kingdom of God in the world!

Crisis-2
Today’s Reading: Philippians 4:13
Thanks to television, every day we have before our eyes, images of disasters that occur all over the world: Fires, floods, contempt for human life, accidents of all kinds, all kinds of crises of life.

We all have our crisis. And when these occur, we must decide immediately what to do. We need to act quickly to avoid greater evils.

However, our best efforts may fail and the crisis becomes a disaster. Do you know? Those who love God are not free of failure. God does not always free Christian of these ruinous situations. The important thing, however, is how the Christian faces crises of life. Is it hopeless? No!

The Bible contains words of hope to face times of crisis. We understand that tragedies are in the hands of God. He has a plan for our lives. We need to be calm and know that He is God. He is our security and hope in times of crisis.

barriers, crisis, eagle, faith, future, hope, obey god, peace and joy, problems, vision

Today’s Reading: Isaiah 40:31
Trust in God in times of trouble, is like the vision of an eagle. From the heights, she has a vision of the big picture with her powerful eyes. That is why the prophet Isaiah, in times of crisis for the people of God, says: “…but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.” This is an affirmation of security for those who confronted with problems, difficulties and pain, will not fold, but trust in God.

There is no possibility of knowing the future, or to know what will happen tomorrow. This does not affect our lives when everything goes well, when there is peace within the normal routine of life. But when problems arise and crises afflict our lives, our families; the concern is transformed into anxiety. We do not get to understand the events, the way out that could bring us back the peace and joy. We start to think, moreover, that God forgot about us. You cannot keep thinking about the circumstances of the moment, you should not suffer thinking that the barriers are impassable.

There is suffering and injustice, yet I trusted in God. There is no desperation for those who wait on God and intend to obey no matter the conditions.

accountable to God, future, hope, pessimist, pessimistic spirit, self satisfaction, sovereign God

Pesimismo No
Today’s Readings Job 30:26, 14:18-19, Lamentations 3:16-18
Is our world getting better or worse? What do you think? Some say they simply observe what is happening every day to see if the world is improving or worsening. Everywhere we hear about muggings, violence, hatred, poverty, wars, and we suffer in our own selves. All of these make us pessimists.

The pessimists proclaim everywhere that there is no future. Nobody can change our world. No matter who governs or what we do, things will always be the same. No future, and if there is no future, why are we going to care? That pessimistic spirit places humans in a “every man for himself” situation. Each one defending what is their own. Only an unbridled egotism that does not seek to defend the interests of others, but only self-satisfaction and momentary pleasure.

Do not enter into the situation of pessimists. All is not lost, because the future really exists. And although God is in control of all things, we are still accountable to him for our own destiny. These are the two parallel lines that cannot be crossed. One is the sovereignty of God and two, our human responsibility.

If you believe in an eternal, almighty, sovereign God, you know that he will not leave his creation unfinished. Future exists, and in the future there is hope. So, if there is future and there is hope, it is impossible to be pessimistic!
