Humility of Jesus Final
Today’s Reading: Mark 10:45
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark+10%3A45&version=NIV

On one occasion, Jesus took a basin of water and a towel and went to wash the feet of the disciples. When Jesus began to wash and dry the feet of each of them, the disciples were amazed and Peter reacted this way: “You will never wash my feet.”

Jesus was teaching his disciples on how to serve others with humility.

When we serve, we discover that our arrogance has no reason to exist and the act of service gets us closer to people who live with us. By doing this, always serving, we will be freeing ourselves of selfishness and the attitudes that separate us from the society.

Serving is one of the most beautiful ways to show that we love our neighbor, to serve our community and to get closer to the example set by Jesus.

Jesus, being a teacher and Lord, knelt as a slave before his disciples and washed their feet giving them a lesson in love and humility.

Jesus came to serve, not to be served and our Christian life must begin in the same way, serving our neighbor.

Confess to Each Other
Today’s Reading: James 5:14-16 Version NIV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James+5%3A14-16&version=NIV

A friend is one to whom we open our hearts, who analyzes its content with wisdom and gentleness, and keeps what is of worth and, with a breath of kindness, erases the rest.

We all have heard and many have experienced that confession is good for the soul. And it is true. When someone has a disease, he needs to identify it to find the cure. The same applies to those suffering for sin. There are, however, those who laugh at the idea of confessing one’s sins to one another; they claim that this is a thing of the past. However, these are the same people who spend a fortune consulting psychologists confessing them the darkest details of their past, in an attempt to bring peace to their souls today.

Confession implies a full and frank admission of our guilt. When we confess, we need to say: “I did it!” We cannot say: “It was his fault”, or “my parents are to blame, because they raised me like that”. We need to confess with honesty and truth.

Let us remember that the first step to our healing is admitting we are sick. Without this, not even God, the great physician of souls, can do anything for us. Let us ask God for the humility to recognize our mistakes and the courage to confess them. Only then we will be healed.

A Health Problem
Today’s Reading: Matthew 9:11-13 – Version NIV
Human beings need to recognize and acknowledge their own sin. This is one of the most difficult demands of Christianity.

People easily see the mistakes and shortcomings of others, but does not admit their own mistakes. If someone criticizes us, we become hostile and always find some reason to justify our attitudes.

The truth is only one, nobody’s perfect. We sin with our thoughts and our deeds; when selfishness overcomes us and we stop doing what is right.

If someone is ill but continues to say that it’s not, he will die without receiving medical attention.

We need to acknowledge and recognize our sin immediately in order to be able to receive God’s remedy. God’s remedy is forgiveness and new life. These are the words of Jesus: “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Admit and confess our sin is not easy. Start with a gesture of humility; follow the path of repentance and end in a serious decision to change your attitudes and your lives.

One thing is certain, when we admit and confess our sin; we end up looking at the faults of others with more understanding and patience.

communicate, God does not give all, God listens, humility, maturity, passion for life, prayer, renews joy, speak to God, talking with God, your heart

Prayer And Comunication
Today’s Reading:Psalm 17:6, Psalm 77:1, Isaiah 38:5 Version NIV
When problems arise or when we get into a difficult situation, we resort to prayer. We ask God to save us and in return we promise something if He resolves our difficulties.

However, the father who loves his son will not please him all the time. If the father is wise, he will not do for the child what the child can do on his own. God loves us and is wise. He does not give us all that we ask, nor relieves our headaches if we can just take an aspirin. If the child gets close to the father just to ask, it only shows immaturity. However, the child shows maturity when he sits next to his father for a small conversation, without asking for anything.

Our prayers to God should be more than just requests. Prayer is the way of communication; it is the medium in which you become aware of the reality of God’s presence around you and your life.

If you want to communicate with God today, enter into your bedroom, close the door and, with humility in your soul, talk with Him. Talk to Him as if you were speaking to a friend, talk with your heart. When nobody has time to listen, God listens to you; God understands and renews your joy and passion for life.

Consumerism

Today’s Reading Romans 12:2
A materialistic and consumer mentality is dominating our world. You treasure what you have and become driven to buy and spend more and more.

If you want to preserve your values, your beliefs and your lifestyle; you will be condemn and crushed by the forces of this consumer society where everything is disposable and instantaneous. Similarly, the concepts of morality, justice and love have been affected by this consumer mentality.

Radio, television and newspapers are used in a way that the interior virtues like faith, purity, integrity, humility and honesty, lose their strength and courage.

This new way of life leads people to believe that happiness is found in consumer goods. There is excitement in consumer goods, there is an exaltation of pleasure, and the values that regulate human beings are regarded as repressive.

These new lifestyle constitute a threat to our faith and oppose the existence of the principles and virtues that bring much joy to the heart of God.

We need to learn with Paul: “Be not conformed to this world …” It is necessary to feel the greatness of the Christian faith to understand that no possessions can exceed the pleasure of God’s faithfulness.

humble
Today’s Reading: Matthew 11:29
What is humility? Well, humility is not lack of effort to progress. It’s not shyness. Humility is not poverty. It’s quite possible that we meet timid or poor people that are extremely proud. It is also possible to meet a rich man who is humble.

Today, when people are concerned with things like power, prestige and status; humility is ridiculed.

Jesus not only taught humility, but also lived it: being God and Lord, never demanded places of honor, nor sought popular applause or made use of its prerogatives to avoid any kind of aggression, offense or distress. To all and everyone he responded with love and kindness. He even came to wash the feet of his disciples.

Humility is the way that relieves our heavy loads. Humility eliminates our so called self-control, our sense of superiority and self-sufficiency, leading to the feet of Christ to accept his invitation. “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
