Jesus Brea of Life Final
Today’s Reading: John 6:27 Version NIV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+6%3A27&version=NIV

“Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life.”

How should we interpret these words of our Lord Jesus Christ? If Jesus were with the people every day, multiplying loaves of bread and fish, then no one will need to worry, or work. There is something we know very well: Jesus always worked and did not send anyone to sit back and wait for the bread to fall from the sky.

To work is one thing and to remain anxiously fighting for bread every day as if life were hardly a material thing is quite another. Jesus was right. You cannot work only to feed the body, we must also nourish our spirits and regenerate our spiritual energies. You need to think about a life that is divided between love, kindness, joy and then extends for all eternity.

Jesus is the bread of life; however, there are many people living in a real spiritual poverty, a meaningless, useless, sad and selfish life.

Jesus is our food, because food means life. With him we will overcome our most difficult trials. With him we will develop spiritual maturity. With Jesus and in Jesus, we have the strength to spread love, peace, joy, kindness.

That bread is worth fighting for!

Separation Wall 2
Today’s Reading: Colossians 3:12-13 Version CEV
The Berlin Wall was built in August 1961 and tear down in November 1989. This means that there were 28 years of separation. However, it did not separate enemies but brothers. Separating people from the same family, people of the same race.

We raise walls when we stop talking with someone. Friendship ends, respect no longer exists, communication and relationships are broken. This may also occur inside the home. A wall can rise between husband and wife, between parents and children, between brothers and sisters. A wall rises when secrets are kept, when disrespect; or when love, understanding, kindness, turn into purely selfish desires.

Do not increase the height of that wall with your indifference! Do not build insurmountable barriers because of your intolerance! Do not put wire fences with hurtful and damaging words! By contrast, completely destroy what causes separation. Return to the path of dialogue. Restore the lost communication.

It is possible to break down the wall. Not with spikes, hammers or heavy equipment. The wall of enmity, hatred, misunderstanding and division collapses with the instrument of forgiveness!

Follow the advice of God: “Forgive anyone who does you wrong, just as Christ has forgiven you.”

Power of Good
Today’s Reading: Mark 7:21-23 Version CEV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark+7%3A21-23&version=CEV
In contemplating so much corruption, so much evil, so much selfishness and violence, we think, “All is lost, there is no hope for humanity. It seems that there is no room for kindness, brotherhood, love, understanding between people. The power of evil has spread everywhere, generating hatred, enmity, fights and even death”.

You cannot see death, cannot touch it, but you can feel its effects. Evil comes from the depths, into the heart of people. The Lord says: “Out of your heart come evil thoughts, vulgar deeds, stealing, murder, unfaithfulness in marriage, greed, meanness, deceit, indecency, envy, insults, pride, and foolishness. All of these come from your heart, and they are what make you unfit to worship God.”

However, all is not lost. We think, “Good has been defeated again; but from the ashes he raises to truth and justice. Hatred, violence, lies, envy, crucified Jesus. In the darkness of that day, the forces of evil could have danced and celebrated the victory. But that did not happen. Jesus rose to life, conquering death and sin and all it represented. It was the strength and power of God’s love that triumphed over hatred and evil.

Do good, stay close to Jesus and love your neighbor. This world will not be transformed by hatred and violence, but by the power of justice and the love of God.

Sincerity & Love
Today’s Reading: James 3:17 Version=NIV
It is very difficult to tell our friends: “No!” “I disagree!” “You are wrong!” The reason for this is that we do not like being disagreeable.

Our reluctance to say no to people can lead to difficult situations, commitments become a heavy burden. Our desire to be nice to everyone makes us do things that go against our will and our principles. The dilemma is how to be sincere and honest without creating frictions or resentments?

The answer, according to the Bible, is a behavior directed by the wisdom of God. Let’s see what it says: “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.”

Many people confuse sincerity with rudeness, lack of education and stupidity. To be honest, first, it is to be frank and say a few truths, face to face.

Secondly, sincerity, according to the wisdom of God is the natural result of a pure heart, free from preconceptions, full of love, kindness and mercy ideas. The heart that meet these conditions, with sincerity and honesty, you need never worry about disturbing or displeasing.

Reading Today: Prov. 3: 27,28
Is it worth doing good today? Isn’t too risky? Many people “think twice” before performing a good deed. And this is a wise thing, since we live in a world filled with dubious intentions. So we need to know the true meaning and importance of kindness. To be good or practice good deeds, is easy. But how should we? With a spirit of detachment or attitudes charged interest? Christ showed his kindness. First, with its own actions in life and after with his death and resurrection, reconciling man with God.

It was often misunderstood and wronged, but the number of people who were benefited by his goodness was greater than the damage he suffered. Doing good is, above all, the duty of each individual and an obligation of the Christian. One that recognizes the importance of kindness in his life is, objectively, helping others and following in the footsteps of Him who is the best example of kindness, Jesus Christ.

We will, with God’s help, grow day by day the precious gift of kindness.
