Today’s Reading: James 3:17 Version=NIV
It is very difficult to tell our friends: “No!” “I disagree!” “You are wrong!” The reason for this is that we do not like being disagreeable.
Our reluctance to say no to people can lead to difficult situations, commitments become a heavy burden. Our desire to be nice to everyone makes us do things that go against our will and our principles. The dilemma is how to be sincere and honest without creating frictions or resentments?
The answer, according to the Bible, is a behavior directed by the wisdom of God. Let’s see what it says: “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.”
Many people confuse sincerity with rudeness, lack of education and stupidity. To be honest, first, it is to be frank and say a few truths, face to face.
Secondly, sincerity, according to the wisdom of God is the natural result of a pure heart, free from preconceptions, full of love, kindness and mercy ideas. The heart that meet these conditions, with sincerity and honesty, you need never worry about disturbing or displeasing.
