For someone as busy as Jesus, the fact of having children around could become a problem.
We know how children can be: restless, boisterous and rowdy. However, Jesus makes his meeting with the children a moment of reflection and joy. He even took the opportunity to announce one of the most beautiful truths regarding his kingdom. “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
When Jesus calls us to his kingdom, he expects us to see things according to his logic: To act according to the will of God and never in accordance with our way of thinking.
Our human parents can lead us to a simple religiosity without any criteria, but the tenderness of Christ draws us to Him without any prerequisites or unnecessary titles.
Be like children and let the arms of Jesus surround you.
