Jesus Is Peace
Jesus Is Peace
Today’s Reading: Ephesians 2:13-18 Version NIV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians+2%3A13-18&version=NIV

If there were no war, there would not be peace. Peace would not exist if there were no discord, hatred, quarrels and separation.

If two people put aside their differences, forget their offenses and are reconciled, we say that they have made peace.

When two countries are at war, they are called by the organization of the United Nations to implement a ceasefire and a peace treaty.

Some think that peace is a state of mind and not a mere absence of conflict. For this, the best illustration is the bird that sings on the branch of a tree that sways in the middle of a storm. Everything around is in a state of confusion and disorderliness, however, peace exists within him. What we find inside the head of this bird is the absence of a sense of danger, threat, concern, so he sings as if everything around was calm, quiet and in peace.

The war, the storm may exist within us. We need peace! Open or veiled conflict, generate a war of nerves, aggression and bitterness. We need peace! Jesus is our peace! He reconciles us with God, appeases our inner being, and restores our harmony with those around us. This peace is so deep and real, that when we reach it, we will never lose it, even though the world is upside down.

Have the peace of Christ in your life!

Jesus the Living Water
Today’s Reading: John 4:7-9 Version NIV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+4%3A7-9&version=NIV

The sun is high in the sky, it must be noon, and Jesus stopped to rest at the well of Jacob, in close proximity to a city of Samaria.

A woman from the city comes to the well. Why does she come at noon and not like the other women, in the morning? “Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.” He was just a man asking for a drink of water, but it was enough for the two to talk about their concepts of race and religion. She did not show a desire to talk; but Jesus could read her soul like an open book. This woman had a huge thirst for life. She had come to the well at noon, because she was a woman of many men and the other women did not want her company. She needed to restore her life and feel the sustenance of forgiveness, love and goodness. Ah, if there was a water source capable of killing her spiritual thirst! Yes there was! Jesus could bring out from her a source of living water. So, the water well became secondary.

When she ran to tell the others what had happened, she remembered that she had forgotten her water container. The vessel was left behind, as was also behind the desert of her life. She had reached the oasis that Jesus represents!

Forgiveness-1
Today’s reading: Colossians 3:13
We have often witnessed countless acts of forgiveness, and are truly breathtaking. But one thing is forgiving in public and another thing to do it in private. It can be very difficult to forgive someone privately, deep in our hearts. It is very difficult to forgive when someone we love betrays us or insult us. We all go through similar experiences and we need to make a choice: Will we cling to the pain in our hearts or will we forgive the one who has offended us, restoring our communion with him?

The Christian has no alternative. No matter what kind of offense we have received, we cannot grow our bitterness. We must forgive like Jesus, because of his love, he forgave us. The apostle Paul clearly says: “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

God is our example of love and forgiveness, and His Spirit ruling in our hearts we will be able to forgive. This should be our prayer: “Lord Jesus, we understand and appreciate the depth of your love, which accepts us and forgives us, Amen.”
