Prayer of The Lord English FinalToday’s Reading: Psalm 37:4 Version NIV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+37%3A4&version=NIV

Every Christian needs to stay in touch with God. Through prayer this contact is made every time we need to. In those instants we dedicate to prayer, when we are in direct communication with God, we must not allow any distraction interrupt our communication with our Lord.

The time of prayer is an encounter with peace, with the sweetness, with rest, with the lightness of spirit, with silence.

It is at the time of the prayer that God speaks to our spirit. We must open our hearts before God. Tell Him all our hopes and visions, joys and dreams. Through prayer we invite God to participate in the intimacy of our lives even though we know that He knows us better than ourselves. The results will become apparent in our way of thinking, acting and speaking. Our spiritual and material victories grow in direct proportion to our communication with God.

In his daily devotional book, British Pastor and author Charles Haddon Spurgeon, known as The Prince of Preachers we read: “The delight in God has a transforming power, and raises man above the weak desires of his imperfect nature. Delight in the Lord is not only sweet in itself, but sweetens the whole soul, until the longings of the heart become such that the Lord promises safe completion. Is it not great that the delight that shapes our desires will become like God’s wishes?”

In Psalm 37:4 King David exhorts us saying “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

Jesus Silence 2
Have you ever been falsely accused? Accused of something that you didn’t do and you are being judged based on this false accusation. Very difficult but a very common experience. Any unjust accusation brings bitter experiences and can leave lasting scars.

Many people do not waste the opportunity to cast calumnies and accusations to the face of people who want to live a dignified and just life. We just have to look around us, in our government, our jobs and even in our own homes.

Sometimes the best answer to false and unjust accusations is silence. But not a silence that represents guilt or cowardice, but of conscience before the example of one bigger than us, Jesus. “When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. (1 Peter 2:23)

We must keep this truth in our hearts; God cares for us and certainly defend our cause. We are not alone, struggling aimlessly without protection; on the contrary, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm.46:1).

Therefore, we must not be afraid.

Forgiveness-2
Today’s Reading: 2 Corinthians 2:5-7, Matthew 6:14-15 Version CEV
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Corinthians+2%3A5-7%2C+Matthew+6%3A14-15&version=CEV

Have you stopped to think about how many times we start talking with the phrase “if at least”? “If at least they had not betrayed me, if at least she or he had not abandoned me.”

Remorse is one of the weapons used by Satan to steal from us the joy of living our present. We allow bitterness and past failures destroy our lives. No one can get rid of this evil.

If you remember something that someone did to you in the past, immediately you may think all that you would like to do against that person. The options are few when we face bitterness; and some people try to take revenge. The problem is that this does not work, because it becomes a vicious cycle each claiming revenge on the other.

Others practice the silent treatment: loaded with bitterness, alone in silence. But inside, they are ready to explode, full of resentment and pain. There is another option; forgiveness. No matter that you do not feel like forgiving, that you want the taste of revenge, that the person who has wronged you does not deserve forgiveness. The only way to erase the past is to forgive.

Only through God’s grace can we remove the bitterness of our heart, for a new beginning.

loneliness 2
Today’s Reading:John 16:32 Version ESV
Sitting on a garden bench, was an old sleepy, sad and lonely man affected by the loneliness that usually approaches the elderly.

Loneliness is sometimes felt among many people in the big cities, among strangers who pass quickly, without time to even say good morning. But we can also be very lonely in the middle of the family with us.

To confront the sunset of life with dignity, peace and serenity, you must have faith in God. To have much faith is also to have the experience of the intimate communion with God. One must learn to talk to God and tell Him what happens in our heart.

It must feel, in the silence of solitude, the presence of the unchanging God, who was the same yesterday, today and is the same forever. That awesome intimacy with God that helps us confront the difficult and turbulent situations. It helps us face the tiredness and problems of old age.

It is good to have Jesus on our side, in difficult days and the lonely old age, not to feel lonely and abandoned. Jesus is always near, right there next to you.
